In between working two jobs, Dom’s been working on overdrive getting the all purpose room ready for winter projects.
The all purpose room got its name from the variety of different purposes it’s served over the last 2 1/2 years. It was first a storage room when we moved in, then it became a quasi guest room after my dad moved out here. After that, I developed pneumonia landed in the hospital and when I was well enough to come home, Dom moved us into the all purpose room to make it easier for me to recover. Our room was originally in the finished basement. In June we moved into the master bedroom, and the all purpose room became the junk/storage room again.
The room used to be a two car garage that was converted into a day care center by the previous owners.
Our piano is the next project on our list. We’re trying to figure out what color we want to paint it, or if we’ll just sand it down and refinish it.
The piano needs to be tuned, but other than that, its in perfect condition.
After we refinish it, we’ll bring it into the living room. Noah’s been waiting for the chance to play piano. Now we just need to find out how much it costs to have a piano teacher come to teach him.
Do you see the ugly multi-colored shelves? Well, we’ve decided to use that amazing thick wood to create our new dining room table. The wood will be stripped down, and we’ll be making the table from scratch. I’m so excited about that!
Here are a few photos of some farm tables that I’ve been eye-balling:
For the piano, here are a few photos I found…we’re not sure though whether to paint or refinish:
With so many great projects on the horizon, I think this winter we’ll hit another homesteading milestone, re-purposing and refinishing furniture, decorating with nature, drawing and sketching. I can’t wait.Stop by our farm site Luna Hill Heritage Farm to sign up for our CSA! www.LunaHill.org
