Great pics! Looks like the volunteer is a globemallow.
I took a few hundred pictures recently and even got some web ready, but haven’t gotten around to posting them. Spring is so beautiful in the desert!
Which plugin are you using for the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”?

It’ll be nice to have a name now to go with my volunteer.
I have one more mystery plant that totally took over my blueberry bush. I gave up on ever getting rid of this thing. Maybe I’ll post a photo of it tomorrow so you can help me identify it?
Here is the info on the plugin I use:

Beautiful pics, Angela!!!
Thanks Melissa, I feel so behind in my blog visits with you.
Thanks for the info on the plugin, I’ll try that.
And I’ll be glad to look at any other volunteers, but don’t get your hopes up, I don’t know that many plants. Globemallow is one of my favorite natives and neighbors had HUGE bushes while I had NONE until I moved in 2006. I had tried seeds and transplants, but nothing worked. And then at my new place they just started coming up all over, more every year. The one under the Fuji is in full bloom and I should take a picture. If you give them a little water they really take off!
Ours happen to be right over a buried weeper hose so it gets watered deeply each week.
I’ll take photos of this other volunteer tomorrow. Hopefully you’ll know what it is.
