A Little Blog Love

Bee Girl aka Melissa over at Sky Minded and Ever Growing tagged me and 10 others as someone she finds interesting. Bee Girl is one of the most inspirational bloggers for me. (I’m also partial to the fact that she’s also from New Mexico) :)

I love her art, her heart and how she loves her family. She posted 11 questions for me to answer and when I’m done, I’ll get to post 11 questions for 11 people I find interesting.

So here we go!

1. Where is your favorite place in the world? Tell us why?

My favorite place in the whole world used to be way up in northern Idaho, but now that I’ve lived in New Mexico, I’d have to say Idaho has now taken second place in my heart. I don’t think I could name one favorite place in New Mexico because I’m always amazed by the beauty of the mountains and the simplicity of the mesas, the sweeping big sky and the way light seems to kiss the earth here. So…my favorite place is all of New Mexico. After living here I could think of no other place I’d rather be.

2. What person has inspired you most?

Its hard to pin down one inspirational person since I’m inspired by so many, but the one that comes to mind right now is Vandana Shiva. I would love to meet her one day. A long time ago when I first saw a video of her, it was her passion, her fire and how she took on big pharma that really sealed the deal for me to start moving towards the thought of homesteading. I love how she empowers women all over the world to grow things and to be seed savers. I love how passionate she gets about all the different varieties of rice and I love how she cares for Indian farmers. She’s amazing.

3. Who would you like to have over for dinner (famous or not, currently living or not)?

Gerard Butler…yup, I’d like to have him come over and join us for dinner.

4. Where were you born?

I was born in California.

5. City, coast or country?

Coast… Cannon Beach, Oregon to be exact, because it’s both coast and country.  ;)

6. What is the best surprise you’ve ever had?

That I was going to be a grandmother.

7. What is your favorite song and why?

Joss Stone & Melissa Etheridge - Cry baby – Piece of my heart (Live at the 2005 Grammy Awards) Because Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone totally blew me away singing that song. I love the fact that Melissa rocked the bald look. I have medical hair loss (alopecia) and I was so proud to see her bald and beautiful. My hair loss is in remission now, but if ever I start losing my hair again, I’m shaving it all off!

8. What are you most passionate about?

My deep crazy love affair I have with Dom. We’ll be married for 8 years next month and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, he just has to look at me with those deep chocolate eyes, smiles at me and takes my breath away…again and again. I’m passionate about keeping our relationship alive and on fire.

9. What were you like as a 3 year old? (as far as you know)

I remember being three and loving to sing. I was constantly singing, although I never did it around anyone. When I hear Simone sing it takes me back to when I was three. I have always been extremely introverted, so other than singing, I often kept to myself…even at three years old.

10. Describe your most cherished photograph.

My most cherished photograph no longer exists. It had to be destroyed because of mold contamination. But this photo was of me and my first child right after she was born and put to my breast. It will be forever burned into my soul. Breast feeding each of my children was an amazing experience, but experiencing it for the first time will be forever my most cherished memory that took place a quarter of a century ago and yet it’s so fresh in my mind like it just happened yesterday.

11. What have you done that you are most proud of?

Empowering myself to truly live, love and make my own dreams a reality each day.

Okay, here are the 11 questions for 11 people I find interesting. They are the Bee Girl’s questions because hey, they were great questions.

Thanks for including me, too. I should have an opening in my writing schedule this week, and I’ll jump on it then.

Peace!
